ABOUT the ARTIST
With a unique sensitivity to gesture, expression and texture, portrait artist Louise Masano uses the delicate medium of pastel to capture the spirit of people and pets in a fresh and authentic way.
Louise has been drawing portraits her whole life. After studying studio fine arts at Boston University, she decided on a career in advertising. She spent over twenty years as an art director at major New York advertising agencies, creating international TV commercials and print campaigns for Diet Coke, Revlon Cosmetics, L'Oreal, Hyatt Hotels, Brut Fragrances, Springmaid Sheets, Lever Brands and Slim-Fast, among others.
She then decided to focus back on her fine arts and spent six years in the client service department at Sotheby's, where she felt the daily exposure to such great and varied works of art, "elevated her eye." Combining both interests, Louise has illustrated over 18 personalities for Montblanc's "New Yorkers Who Make a Difference" campaign. Her range of portrait subjects include politicians, philanthropists, corporate heads, musicians, educators and actors.
